OMG! Absolutely loved this place. The location was right off the monon right in the thick of stores. The service here was amazing! Some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I had a coffee and it hit the spot. Also grabbed a delicious blueberry dessert! It left me wanting more. For sure check this place out.

Pros:
*homey
*quiet
*homemade baked goods
*extensive menu
*friendly barista
*dog friendly
*quick wifi
*had soda (lots of super hipster places don't offer a simple Diet Coke nowadays!!)
Cons:
*The hours--closes early.
*The latte tasted burnt, but I added simple syrup and it ended up being really good. I think this is a one off though and not a commonality.
*the container labeled cinnamon was actually cinnamon sugar. Most people would say YUM. But for someone who could add 20 shakes of cinnamon (like myself), this could ruin a drink. Glad I noticed before over doing it! Esp after adding simple syrup already. -

My timing was fortunate, but not optimal as I caught this place just minutes before closing on a Saturday afternoon. So, they didn't have any black drip coffee available, but suggested an Americano as an alternative. I also grabbed a twist tie coordinated blueberry muffin (they have a mini chart to help you identify the flavors by twist tie).
The server was friendly and helpful and I was planning to get my coffee to go anyway, so I didn't have a lot of opportunity to check out for ambiance though I will say that the seating area looked inviting.
The American was just a bit too hot to enjoy right away, but had a good taste and was a useful alternative to standard drip coffee. The muffin, though not huge, was very filling. I am not sure how long it had been there. The blueberries had a bit of a raisin texture to them. It didn't affect the taste, but it was a bit unusual compared to other muffins in my experience.
Good food, service, and setting. I like it!

I had walked by Perk Up many times before I finally stopped in today. The friend I was meeting up with suggested that we went here, and I am so happy we did. As soon as I walked in I immediately felt at home. It was as if I went over to my friends house for coffee and we were sitting in their living room just chatting. The ambiance was incredibly comfortable and inviting.
I ordered a medium coffee, and decided to give their whites chocolate raspberry roast a try. It was out of this world - I continue to think about how good it was, and it's only a matter of time before I head back to Perk Up so I can buy a pound of these beans to take home! I am amazed they roast their own beans in house, and you can definitely taste how fresh the coffee is!
I wish I would have tried some of the food they had because it all looked and sounded so incredibly good! And did I mention they make all of their breads and baked goods in house too?! How cool is that! I will be back soon to try their baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and their cakes (which they have available Sundays from 1-3!).
The only drawback of Perk Up is that they don't have WiFi. They want to foster organic conversations, which is their reasoning behind not offering free WiFi. Honestly, not having WiFi didn't bother me, but if I was going to Perk Up to work on some things it would be a bit of a problem, but nothing that couldn't be avoided by planning ahead! -

Great spot with friendly services, delectable homemade baked goods and an excellent cup of coffee. As far as I'm concerned this is exactly what a coffee shop should be, though I wish they could find a way to be open into the evening. Maybe add a few beer taps? Is that legal in Indy? Anyway, I like the indoor and outdoor spaces and friendly faces. Here's my only issue - way too much plastic. Someone should really do something about that. I was served a latte for here in paper cup with a plastic lid, though I'm not going anywhere. Just take a look at the picture and you'll note - in addition to the cozy environment - way too much plastic.
